Wonderland Run > Mandatory Gear & Qualification

NO GEAR = NO BIB

Mandatory gear helps keep runners safe in changing weather conditions, remote environments and emergency situations. The gear requirements for each race have been determined based on factors including distance, terrain, weather exposure, aid station spacing, remoteness and access to emergency assistance.

Please review the mandatory gear requirements for your race carefully and ensure you understand what is required before race day.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

There are no minimum qualification standards for any of the race distances. However, runners in the 50k and 30k are highly recommended to have ran a trail race in the past and be well trained and prepared for technical rocky terrain.

Weather/Trail Conditions:

  • The run takes place in an exposed environment that can be subject to sudden and severe changes in weather.

  • Rain, fog, high winds, sleet and snow as well as hot sunny days can occur during late August. Do not take this run lightly.

  • Hypothermia, dehydration and heat exhaustion are serious risks and all runners should be prepared for any weather conditions.

  • The courses all take place on rocky, uneven, technical trails that will challenge all levels of runners.
